After almost a year's hard work, we at cijma were happy that there was some improvement in the cleanliness & conservation of the avenue trees & greenery of our area. ( There are many issues still being followed up, like traffic, new food carts, uncleaned drains, roads, playground, etc, etc )
A few day back, we were shocked to see 5 trees on the 1st Main defaced and harmed with colourful bands of paint on the trunk. Is it so hard for people to respect and appreciate our life giving trees !!?
Euro Kids Play School which is opening a branch has painted the tree trunks, causing them harm. When contacted, the owner of this play school told us that his was the norm followed by all the other branches and was allowed by the authorities (wonder which one !) Teaching institutions should be imparting knowledge about conservation and not destruction of our environment.
Dr Prakash, an expert on Avenue Trees, who conducted the tree survey, inspected and has advised that the paint be scraped off. He also informed that this was illegal and harmful to the trees.
We hope that the owner / franchisee of the play school will have the paint scraped off not only here but at all their branches, follow & impart knowledge about Conservation.
