Clean-up of 13th Cross & 5th Main

 Cleaning of streets and clearance of garbage has fallen in place : )  Jayamahal is getting back to being clean !
This resident sweeps and cleans up the foot path in front of his home every morning !  If only all residents monitored & took care of keeping the area in front of their home clean !!

Every year the play ground is used by the Bengali Association.  The committee in charge was requested to clean up the playground soon after the celebration.  Ten days later it was still like this.....

Playground was at last cleaned up after repeated reminders !!

This wall was knocked down by a resident's car.........after a lot of effort we were able to get the resident rebuild the wall, but the concrete blocks which had fallen were not replaced and the debris which destroyed the plants wasn't even cleared......

After a long wait, we ourselves got the blocks replaced, and cleared the debris.....

Clean-up of 5th Main

Only a small stretch of 5th Main near the Chacha Park was cleaned. 
 Cleaning has to be suspended for a few days until BBMP sends a compactor or a bigger truck for garbage clearance.  Even the push carts provided to the PKs is of little use with 4 little drums to collect road sweeping and household garbage.  (We are in the process of remodelling the push carts.)
As a result of this, in a week's time, we have regressed to how the situation was, before we started the Clean-up Drive  : (

The small truck cannot handle this one heap, let alone 3-4 such heaps generated every day !

The PKs have managed to find some cardboard for the floor.  How on earth can these people collect all that garbage in these drums !!??

We have raised the height and will have sheets fixed on the floor and sides and do away with those silly drums !

Garbage woes :(

The garbage pick-up contract ended on the 30th Sept.  No new contract is in place as yet, Manjunath is managing with a few PKs for sweeping and door to door pick up of garbage, but is unable to clear as there is no compactor assigned to this area.  
( 15 new push carts have been given to the PKs on 14.10.13 by  BBMP !! They are still working on the pick-up truck....)
