Clean-Up of 3rd Cross, Nandidurg Road, Jayamahal Extension

Today, we undertook the cleaning of 3rd Cross - (between 5th Main & Nandidurg Road)  
Found this road very dirty. The drains were covered with mud and had trash all over, though this road has an entrance to Gulabi Girls' High School & The  Karnataka Council for Child Welfare. It is being used by hundreds of children, putting them to health risk. 
We received complaints that this road does not get regularly cleaned by BBMP.  
Today, only a small stretch of the drain on one side could be cleaned.  

Response from residents to volunteer for supervision of cleaning has been very disappointing.  Hope more residents will volunteer for this Clean-Up Drive soon.

Gulabi Girls' High School children cleaning the Playground this morning :)

Paper & plastic trash had accumulated again in the playground since our last clean-up on 13 th. July.  The children thought that it was time for another clean-up & here is what they did.....

Require volunteers to help supervise

Hi,

This is the schedule of some of the works:

Wednesday : Clean up of drains, side walks and roads.

Time : 11.30 am to 2.00 pm

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday : Work with regard to Avenue Trees, new saplings and plants at various spots.

Time : 3pm to 5pm

Debris pick up: Will inform as and when BBMP tractor is available. 

Monday, Wednesday, Friday : Door to Door collection of garbage.  (at least four volunteers required from each street)

Time: According to the time of collection on your street. 

Every morning : Sweeping of roads by Pourakarmikas.

Time: At the time of sweeping your road. 

We require volunteers who can help us supervise the above mentioned works.

Happy to say the Clean-Up Drive organised by CIJMA, Sponsored by ACT BROADBAND & Partnered by THE UGLY INDIAN, on Saturday, 13th July 2013 was very successful.  Residents, members of ACT BROADBAND & THE UGLY INDIAN along with the children from Gulabi Girls High School participated in the event.  Each and every dedicated member, put in a lot of hard work to transform the Playground into a CLEAN ONE.
